Built to survive where glass dissolves. Standard glass pH electrodes cannot survive in Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) applications; it chemically attacks the silica matrix of standard glass electrodes, leading to rapid drift, etched glass, and premature failure.
The Supmea SUP-PH5014 utilizes a specialized HF-resistant glass formulation designed to withstand fluoride concentrations that destroy conventional sensors.
This sensor absorbs the complexity of aggressive chemical monitoring. With a standard PG13.5 mechanical connection, it integrates easily into existing analytical loops or Supmea’s immersion assemblies, ensuring you get certainty in your most corrosive control points.
Key Features & Benefits
- HF Resistant Glass: Specialized measuring bulb formulation resists etching in acidic fluoride solutions (up to 1000 mg/L HF).
- Double Junction Design: The two-chamber system protects the reference electrode from poisoning by process ions, extending sensor life in harsh chemical applications.
- Standardized Fit: Features a PG13.5 mechanical connection, making it compatible with a wide range of industrial housings and retractable assemblies.
- High Temperature Tolerance: Capable of operating in process temperatures up to 130 °C (application dependent).
- Low Maintenance: Large annular junction resists fouling in wastewater and suspended solid applications.

Target Applications
- Semiconductor Manufacturing: Waste treatment of fluoride-containing effluent from wafer etching.
- Metal Finishing: Acid pickling baths and passivation lines.
- Chemical Processing: Neutralization of acids containing trace fluorides.
- Glass & Solar: Monitoring wastewater from glass etching processes.
Metrology & Installation Note
- HF Limits: While resistant, the lifespan of any glass sensor in HF is determined by concentration and temperature. This sensor is rated for concentrations up to 1000 mg/L HF.
- Mounting: The sensor body features a PG13.5 thread. For pipe or tank mounting, a separate 3/4" NPT adaptor or immersion assembly is required. Always mount ph sensors facing at least slightly down to ensure that the electrolyte is in contact with the reference junction.
- Calibration: Standard 2-point calibration (pH 4.00 & 7.00) is recommended. Ensure buffers are fresh to maintain the high slope accuracy (> 98%).
