The Bante PHscan40 is a unique hybrid instrument that bridges the gap between simple pocket testers and professional handheld meters. Unlike standard pens with fixed sensors, the PHscan40 is equipped with a universal BNC Connector, allowing you to attach any standard pH electrode to this compact body.
This design gives you the portability of a pen tester with the versatility of a lab meter. Whether you need to attach a spear-tip probe for meat, a flat probe for skin, or a long-cable probe for tanks, the PHscan40 acts as the high-accuracy "brain" for your specific application.
Key Features
Universal BNC Connectivity
- Interchangeable Probes: Connect any pH electrode with a BNC connector (e.g., Bante E201, E202, P11). This allows you to adapt the tester to liquids, semi-solids, or micro-samples simply by swapping the probe.
- Cost-Effective: If a sensor wears out, you simply replace the electrode, not the entire meter.
High-Accuracy Analysis
- Precision Measurement: Delivers accuracy of ±0.01 pH across a wide range (-1.00 to 15.00 pH).
- Manual Temperature Compensation (MTC): Since standard BNC probes do not transmit temperature data, the PHscan40 allows you to manually input the sample temperature (0-100°C) to ensure the pH slope is calculated correctly.
User-Friendly Interface
- Dual-Line Display: Shows the pH reading and the manually set temperature.
- Auto-Read Function: Automatically locks the measurement endpoint when the reading stabilizes, ensuring consistent data recording.
- Setup Menu: Customize buffer groups (USA/NIST), calibration points, and auto-off settings to suit your workflow.
Ideal Applications
- Specialized Testing: Users who need specific probes (e.g., food, soil, or surface testing) but want a pocket-sized device.
- Field Work: Environmental monitoring where carrying a large meter is impractical.
- Education: A durable, low-cost base unit that works with existing lab electrodes.
- Industrial: Spot-checking plating baths or chemical tanks.

Expert Tip: The "Brain" in Your Pocket
Think of the PHscan40 as a miniaturized laboratory meter.
- Standard Use: Pair it with a Bante E201-BNC for general liquid testing.
- Specialty Use: Pair it with a Bante E202-BNC (Flat Surface) to measure paper, skin, or agar plates directly.
- Note: Because it uses a 2-wire BNC connection, it does not read temperature automatically. You simply check your sample temp with a separate thermometer and press the keypad to match it on the screen.
In the Box:
